Jacksonport, located on the “quiet side” of the Door, is a laid back town with beaches, a farmer’s market, and excellent biking access to the peaceful back roads of the peninsula. Whitefish Dunes State Park, home of the tallest sand dunes in the state, is in the town’s back yard. Next to the Dunes is Cave Point, whose rocky precipices are a favorite subject of amateur and professional photographers. The area includes West Jacksonport and Institute, the home of Sevastopol School.
